Tamang Heritage Trail Trek
A recently discovered and popularized trail in Nepal,THE TAMANG HERITAGE TRAIL, between Langtang and Ganesh Himal offeres a completely exciting and refreshing tour with varieties of new experiences. This trail was introduced and developed by the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program under United Nations Development Project (UNDP).
The Tamang Heraitage Trekking Trail reveals the remains of the distinct culture of the Tamang people since its origin and its virtually untouched culture, lifestyle, crafts, Tamang rituals, festivals, costumes, local Syabru dances, architecture of local mountain houses with rich wood engravings and ancient monasteries set an imprint on every new visitor.
Along with the richness in the culture it offers the wilderness experiences through the terraced fields, strikingly expressive villages, panoramic mountain scenery throughout the trail, natural as well as religiously important natural hot springs at Tatopani and the landscapes of alpine terrain,flat meadows and rhododendron forests are simply mesmerizing.
The main inhabitants here are believed to be the descendants of Tibetans from Kerung who intermingled with Tamang of the Helambu area.A warm welcome and hospitalness of the Tamang people in this region add more colours to the experience throughout this trekking.
